Why not an app
- Nothing to download or store: a link is enough and updates arrive by themselves.
- No registration, password or e-mail: type a name and the rating lives in your browser.
- Android, iPhone, tablet and desktop: one site, one leaderboard.
Controls
- Tap a piece, green dots appear, tap the target square. Or drag.
- When a pawn reaches the last rank, a piece picker appears.
- During the game: 🏳 resign, ½ offer a draw; afterwards 🔁 rematch. Versus computer: ↩ Undo.
If the connection drops
If the internet drops in the metro or a lift, return to the page: within 45 seconds the game continues where it was, clock included. After 45 seconds the opponent is awarded the win. A game against the computer carries on without internet as long as the page stays open.
Add to the home screen
Android (Chrome): menu ⋮ → “Add to Home screen”. iPhone (Safari): “Share” → “Add to Home Screen”. The icon opens like an app, no download.
How to start
- Press “Play”: the page opens and asks for a name. No password, e-mail or download.
- Choose a mode: ⚡ quick game (online opponent), 👥 with a friend (room code), 🤖 computer, 👫 one device.
- Tap a piece: green dots show the legal moves; tap the target square or drag the piece.
