Hudud: a trail leaving the territory and a loop about to close

Goal

Hold as much of the map as you can and knock out as many opponents as you can. The game is endless: no rounds, no timer, someone is always playing in the room. Whoever holds half the arena wins and that run ends there. Your score is the highest percentage in one run and your knock-outs.

Trail and loop

  • Your head always moves forward; you only set the direction, a free 360°. It turns smoothly towards it, drawing a small arc on a sharp turn.
  • Outside your own land you leave a trail behind you, on other players’ land too.
  • Return to any point of your land and the loop closes: the trail and everything enclosed by it and your land become yours.
  • Other players’ land inside the area is taken too. Their trails on it stay in place and can still be crossed.

Who gets knocked out and when

EventResult
You cross someone’s trailthe owner is out, you carry on and it counts as your knock-out
You cross your own trailyou are out; the short stretch right behind your head does not count, so turning never kills you
Two players cross each other’s trails at the same momentboth are out
Head-on: two heads run into each otherthe smaller territory is out; if equal, both. No head-ons in the first 20 seconds after spawning
All your land is takenyou are out and it counts for whoever took it
Getting home and having your trail cut on the same stepthe cut wins: the loop does not close

When you are out your land becomes free for anyone to claim. Restarting is instant and free, on a new spot away from the others.

Walls

The arena is round and its edge does not kill. At the edge your head slides along the wall, and if you hit it square on it goes away from your own trail. That stays fair with lag: a 200 ms ping will not knock you out at a wall.

Important: a wall is not a border. Only your trail and your land enclose an area. To take the ground at the edge, run your trail along the wall.

Controls and connection

  • A turn shows at once: your direction is predicted in the browser, while the server applies it on the same step and checks it.
  • If your connection drops or you leave the page, your head goes home on its own and waits 20 seconds. If you do not return, the run ends and your land becomes free.
  • A room with no people left stops and closes.

FAQ

Does it count on the leaderboard if a bot gets me?

The board records your largest territory in that run and your knock-outs, whoever got you. Bots themselves never appear on it.

Will I be knocked out straight away as a beginner?

For the first 20 seconds bots do not hunt you and cannot cut your trail, and there are no head-ons. Real people can still cut your trail and crossing your own trail still counts, but turning never kills you. Later on too, bots go after players with lots of land more often.

If I surround another player, are they out?

No, only their land is taken. They are out only if all their land was inside, leaving them with nothing.

Why does my head wait at the start?

To give you a moment: it waits until your first command or about a second and a half. Whichever way you point it, it starts at once.
