How the tiles work
| Word | Tiles | Count |
|---|---|---|
| SHAHAR | SH · A · H · A · R | 5 |
| CHIROQ | CH · I · R · O · Q | 5 |
| O‘RMON | O‘ · R · M · O · N | 5 |
| BOG‘CHA | B · O · G‘ · CH · A | 5 |
| YANGI | Y · A · N · G · I | 5 |
NG takes two tiles, because N and G are separate letters in Uzbek spelling. Words with the tutuq belgisi (MA’NO, SAN’AT) are never hidden words.
The keyboard
- On a phone there are dedicated O‘, G‘, SH and CH keys. C and W are left out because the Uzbek alphabet has no such separate letters.
- On a computer s then h gives SH, c then h gives CH. O or g followed by any apostrophe (' ʻ ’ ‘ `) gives O‘ or G‘.
- Backspace removes the whole tile, so SH goes in one press.
- Even if your layout is on Cyrillic, the right Latin letters are entered.
Where the words come from
The hidden words are 1,064 common words: nouns, adjectives and everyday verb stems. Each was reviewed by hand, with no proper names and nothing offensive or politically or religiously sensitive. The accepted list has 12,517 words, including forms like UYLAR, BOLAM and KELDI, built from Wiktionary and Wikipedia data. When a game ends the word’s short meaning appears in Uzbek.
FAQ
Can I play in Cyrillic Uzbek?
Not for now: Uzbek words use the modern Latin alphabet. Russian words have their own language option.
Why was my word rejected?
The list is broad, but rare forms and dialect words may be missing. The try is not used, so enter another word.
How do I type O‘ and G‘?
A phone has dedicated keys. On a computer press o or g and then an apostrophe.
