What makes this Minesweeper different
- No guessing. In No guessing mode (on by default) every board is checked to the end by a logic solver before you see it. How it works.
- Classic is there too. Classic mode keeps the traditional rule: only the first reveal is safe. Results go to a separate table.
- Hints with a proof. A hint only points to a cell that is provably safe or provably a mine, and explains why. For example: “This 2 has only 2 closed cells next to it, so both are mines.”
- A fair leaderboard. The server verifies a result by replaying your moves and takes the time from its own clock. Games with hints are not ranked.
Levels
| Level | Board | Mines | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 9 × 9 | 10 | learning the rules, one-handed on a phone |
| Intermediate | 16 × 16 | 40 | the main level once you know the patterns |
| Expert | 30 × 16 | 99 | deep logic; in portrait on a phone the board turns to 16 × 30 by itself |
| Custom | up to 40 × 30 | your choice | for practice; not ranked |
Each level keeps your results, and switching levels does not lose a game in progress.
Controls on phone and desktop
- On a phone: a tap reveals, a press and hold (about 0.3 seconds) places a flag with a light vibration. There is also a Reveal / Flag switch at the bottom. Tapping a number with all its flags placed opens the remaining neighbours at once. One finger moves the board, two fingers zoom: these gestures never open a cell.
- On a computer: left click reveals, right click flags. To chord (open neighbours at once), click a number with all its flags placed, or use the middle button or both buttons. The Expert board fits the window without scrolling.
- Keyboard: arrows select a cell, Space reveals, F flags, H hint, N new game, P pause.
What if the connection drops
The game runs on your device: you can play offline too, the result just will not be ranked and the game says so plainly. If you reload or accidentally close the page, the game continues where it was.
FAQ
Is it free?
Yes, completely free. No download, password or payment, and no in-game purchases.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes, in Android and iPhone browsers. The board is built for touch: cells are at least 32 pixels and big boards can be moved and zoomed.
Does luck play a part?
No. Minesweeper is a logic game: in No guessing mode every move can be proved, so only skill decides the result.
Do I need an account?
No. For the leaderboard you only type a name; results are tied to your browser.
