Ship classes

  • Carrier (5): International only. The longest and widest target, easy to find but it takes 5 hits. It has no guns, so other ships do the firing.
  • Battleship (4): the heart of the fleet, with three main turrets. Your shot is usually fired by this ship.
  • Cruiser (3): Two in Classic. A medium target: the parity step of 3 exists for these ships.
  • Submarine (3): International only, sailing on the surface; a low hull that is hard to see from afar.
  • Destroyer (2): Three in Classic. Small, but with a gun on the bow.
  • Patrol boat (1): Four in Classic. One hit sinks it, but these are what make a game long: they cannot be calculated in advance.

About the models

The ships come from openly licensed 3D models on Sketchfab (CC BY 4.0), with authors listed in the in-game Credits panel. Each model is simplified for the game: about 2 MB in total, loaded when needed. They are based on real ships, but in the game they are simply fleet classes and represent no country.

Which ship where

A big ship will be found anyway, so do not waste effort hiding it. Small ones are valuable for their spot: a boat in open water forces the opponent to spend dozens of shots. More in the strategy guide.
